War with Iraq

Dear President Bush, I have been following your recent statements about the dangers of Iraq with great concern and consternation. As I understand it, you and members of your administration believe that Iraq's leader, Saddam Hussein, has been secretly preparing to launch attacks with weapons of mass destruction, and that this, coupled with the track record of attacking neighbors and attacking his own citizens, is cause enough to justify a pre-emptive use of force against him.

Ethical Culture Festivals

This year the American Ethical Union's Religious Education Committee hosted a weekend conference on the topic of festivals and I was asked to speak on the topic Saturday morning. In order to prepare for my workshop I visited the AEU archives in New York City and, with the help of archivist, Marc Bernstein, found some interesting materials from the early days of Ethical Culture.
